MADE-IN-MANITOBA RADON ACTION PLAN
The Made-in-Manitoba Radon Action Plan was developed based on stakeholder engagement and policy development, uniting Manitoba organizations to create coordinated policy actions aimed at reducing the province’s high radon-related lung cancer risks.

The Plan identifies three core priorities for action: MB radon action plan

  1. Children’s Lung Health: protecting children’s lung health by preventing early-life exposure to radon, reducing their lifetime risk of lung cancer;
  2. Awareness and Accessibility for All: focused on removing barriers to testing and mitigation so that all Manitobans—regardless of income or location—can protect themselves; and
  3. A Better Built Environment: ensuring that advancements in energy efficiency, housing design, and retrofits improve comfort and sustainability without compromising indoor air quality or health

Collectively, this work marks a significant step forward in protecting the health of Manitobans and ensuring that organizations and communities have the tools and knowledge needed to breathe safer, healthier air.  You can find a copy of the Made-in-Manitoba Radon Action Plan here.
