Radon Mitigation Course (only) : $1 950 (must have previously take the Radon Measurement Course)

Thursday and Friday will include field experience which will be offsite, the location will be close to the classroom location and will be provided to you during the first day of the course.

This course will be confirmed once we have 10 people registered for it or a decision will be made on the confirmation date. Until that date, the course may be rescheduled and so we advise making travel arrangements after the confirmation date.
Course Instructor: Colin Dumais
Colin is an engaging, dynamic trainer with a passion for radon and building science. He approaches radon mitigation with a scientific process that provides a resource to course participants which allows them to translate the radon mitigation process to many different buildings and situations. Many who have taken the course in the past have greatly appreciated the knowledge they have gained from the course content as well as from the interaction with other course participants as Colin engages each participant to share experience and knowledge.
Course Focus:
Radon awareness is increasing, and with it is the need for properly trained professionals to help homeowners reduce their indoor radon levels. This course is designed to prepare people to become Radon Mitigation Professionals certified through C-NRPP. It is based on Health Canada’s scientific approach to radon mitigation. Course participants will be trained in techniques to interpret radon test results, understand radon entry, conduct diagnostic testing and design and/or installation of radon mitigation systems and determine the most effective way to manage radon concentrations within buildings.
The objectives of the course include:
- Understanding radon
- understanding radon entry
- Site survey in a residential dwelling
- Communication Test with micromanometer
- Design of piping and fan fitting
- Understanding of the scientific process of radon mitigation design
- Identify difficulties in installation
- Hands on experience
